Discount Waste Systems, Inc. has provided waste removal services at over 3000 Home Depot remodel projects and ground up construction sites. Home Depot, largest retailer of home improvement goods in the world, attributes much of their success to their dedicated focus on store remodeling and strategic new store openings.

In most remodeling cases, Home Depot approved contractors are required to work at night when the store has closed so not to interrupt consumer business. Discount Waste Systems, Inc. provides services for most of these approved contractors and we are their day time support when managing waste removal and recycling services at remodel projects. We work with the contractors to help determine how many temporary open tops to place at a store depending on the nature of the remodel job.

On the day of delivery, we call the store location to ensure that the proper size and number of waste containers were delivered in support of the project. This one process alone saves our customers the debilitating problems of not having waste containers on site for the first night of work which is generally heavy with demolition. No Dumpster - No Demolition. When trying to manage the waste process themselves, many of our Home Depot contractors suffered the pitfall of arriving at the store the first night to get started only to find out that the waste provider did not deliver any dumpsters at all. We ensure that this is not the case and our customers know that when they order through us, there will be the correct size and number of dumpsters on the property when the team begins their work.

We manage the waste removal process during the course of the project and we take care of issues that occur during the day. In many cases, a driver will arrive at a Home Depot to service the waste containers and there will be something inhibiting his/her ability to provide the service (blocked containers, overloaded containers, etc.). Since the project team is generally not on site during the day, Discount Waste Systems works hard to solicit the help of the store personnel and driver to resolve any issues so that the services can be accomplished. The project team arrives that night at the store and carries on with their demolition – not even having to be involved in the issues during the day. At the end of a remodel project, Discount Waste calls the store to ensure that all waste containers have been removed as scheduled. This eliminates the responsibility on the contractor to leave someone on site for an extra day to ensure that the containers are removed. This also eliminates the potential for a dumpster to remain on site and subsequent billing to a contractor days, weeks or even months after they have left the property.

CVS Pharmacies
In the 4th Quarter of 2006 and 1st Quarter of 2007, CVS Pharmacies purchased several other pharmacy chains and took on the task of remodeling all locations. Discount Waste Systems, Inc. was involved in over 350 locations. The remodel schedule was extremely aggressive and our customer had up to 20 stores starting weekly with a 3 week timeframe to complete each location. Many locations needed expedited services and we were there to take care of every need.

Alltel
Discount Waste Systems, Inc. provided waste removal services for over 300 Alltel stores across the country. Alltel released a rollout project to remodel the interior design of these locations to bring them up to their quality standards. Discount Waste Systems, Inc. worked closely with the contractors and the field personnel to ensure that each location was provided with a roll-off dumpster to remove all of the old fixtures and desks. The waste removal process was managed very carefully and the customer was extremely happy with the services provided during the course of the remodel program.

Gymboree
This rollout involved remodeling upwards of 400 Gymboree locations across the country. The majority of these locations were at medium and large scale malls. Discount Waste Systems, Inc. took on the challenge of negotiating and defining the proper location for roll-off dumpsters at every location. We worked with mall management, operations and security offices to identify the proper placement on the property. We communicated this information back to our customer so that their field teams would know exactly where to look on the property for the dumpsters. We successfully managed the delivery and service process for every location and followed up every job to confirm with the same mall contacts that the waste containers had been removed. This was a significant task and resulted in a tremendous time and cost savings for our customer. Every location received the appropriate services. We even managed a few locations where we contracted out drive by or live load services at locations where dumpsters could not be placed at the mall. We sourced companies that would drive by these locations when the site personnel was ready and the waste was successfully removed without a container ever touching the ground.
