| Stationary / Breakaway Compactor |
| This type of compactor is used to dispose of large volumes of dry, compactable materials.
Stationary or breakaway compactors have a ground-mounted compactor connected to a removable roll-off receiver container generally 40 to 42 cubic yards in size (smaller receiver containers are available) for collecting waste material. The container is serviced by a roll-off truck. This type of compactor can be used for solid waste or recyclable materials. |

| Self Contained Compactor |
| Self-contained compactors are also serviced by a roll-off truck. The major difference between the stationary/breakaway compactor and a self contained compactor is that this compactor is not a ground-mounted compactor. Instead, the compactor and receiver is one complete unit. Once the receiver is full, the container with compactor attached, is hauled to the disposal site, and then returned and reconnected. The primary application for the self contained compactor is transportation and disposal of large volumes of compactable wet waste. |
